Morsel Mate searches the USDA FoodData Central database and Open Food Facts. If a food isn't showing up, try alternate spellings or a more general term. For packaged items, the barcode scanner is often the quickest way to get an exact match.
Your goal is calculated using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation — the same formula used by registered dietitians. It takes into account your age, weight, height, sex, and activity level to estimate your daily energy needs.
Prefer your own numbers? You can set a custom calorie target, and your own protein, carb, and fat goals, in your profile — Morsel Mate will use those instead.
Morsel Mate gives you a little something for showing up. You earn coins for logging your food each day, with bonus coins at streak milestones, and you can spend them on hats for Morsel in the Hat Shop. It's purely for fun — coins aren't real money, you can't buy them, and they don't unlock anything about tracking. Everything that actually matters is free.
Your streak counts the days in a row you log your food. Life happens, though — so if you miss a day, Morsel will automatically spend a streak freeze to keep your streak alive. You earn a free freeze at each milestone (day 3, 7, 14, 30…), or you can buy more with coins. One slip never wipes out your progress. Morsel's here to cheer you on, not guilt-trip you.
Everything stays on your device. Morsel Mate doesn't have accounts, doesn't sync to the cloud, and doesn't send your information anywhere. Your data is yours.
Simply delete the app. iOS will remove all stored data along with it — no extra steps needed.
